A Troubadour Journey : Lindisfarne to Durham

Church of St Peter the Fisherman, Haven Hill, Craster, Northumberland

In June 2025 Gareth will be walking (with a guitar !) from Lindisfarne via St Oswald's Way and The Way of Light Northern Saints Trail - arriving into Durham on the Eve of Midsummer. As he goes, the journey itself will provide inspiration, stories and perspectives for a new collection of songs to be written and recorded in Autumn/ Winter 2025. During the walk he is performing a series of intimate acoustic concerts at atmospheric venues with songs from across his career and particularly those relating to the North East - for example "Lindisfarne" about Eadfrith and the writing of the Lindisfarne Gospels and Heavenfield - written about St Oswald's Church on Hadrian's Wall. Come along and be part of the journey.

Tonight's concert sees Gareth arrive into Craster from Bamburgh at the end of Journey Day 2 to play in the small seaside Church of St Peter The Fisherman.

Please book in advance if possible at the ticket link below - suggested donation £10-£15. Remaining tickets will be available on the door. Thank you.

The nearest refreshments are available at The Jolly Fisherman Pub - a one minute walk from the venue. Please note the concert will last for one hour and that there are no toilets in the church building. The nearest public toilets, including a toilet for disabled visitors, are a four minute walk and are located adjacent to the Tourist Information Centre, located at the entrance to the car park on the road into Craster. These facilities are open 24/7.

'Foot Notes' is a new venture combining songwriting and pilgrimage, seeking to highlight, through music, the history of culture and faith along our ancient highways and byways.
