Trade Justice & Fair Trade

Posted March 6th in footer

Ever since hitting the road as a professional musician I have tried to use my profile, music and gigs to raise awareness of a particular cause I strongly believe in. Fair Trade and Trade Justice is a concept that enshrines practicality at the heart of fighting poverty. Giving some of the world’s poorest producers the dignity of being able to work for a fair and living wage, and lobbying states and institutions for a fairer world trade system where markets are not inherently stacked against the poorest has always made sense to me. No-one wants to depend on handouts and while aid is most certainly a good thing, it’s not the long term answer. If you’re interested to know more then please visit  Traidcraft and The Trade Justice Movement who do such a fantastic fighting against the scandal of poverty in a world of plenty.
