The North By East Tour – Gareth Davies-Jones & Calum Stewart

North By East is a musical collaboration between singer-songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones and flautist Calum Stewart. Gareth was born and raised in County Down in the North East of Ireland and now lives near Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England. Calum is originally from Elgin in the North East of Scotland and studied on the folk degree course at Newcastle University. Taking songs and tunes from each of these distinctive regions of the British Isles Gareth and Calum have put together an evocative, compelling and engaging evening of musical entertainment. As well as featuring the stories that lie behind the songs the artists share something of their own musical heritage and the impact that the landscape, the people and the places of the North East has had on their writing and performance.
